OHRMANN stands for entrepreneurship with foresight. We are always aware that our actions impact the environment and that this brings a great social responsibility. Our goal is to help shape a world through our business activities that offers future generations a livable environment.
However, environmental responsibility does not end with climate protection alone.
In our commitment to act sustainably, the three facets of sustainability—environment, economy, and social responsibility—are equally in focus.
For our customers, we are partners. Partners for courageous changemakers who have made solutions for a livable, sustainable future their business purpose. Partners for all who stand behind products that make a difference. Our seal assembly solutions open up unprecedented possibilities in product design for these companies to achieve ambitious sustainability goals.
Close WindowInternally, for our colleagues and employees, we see ourselves as a social unit that provides space for development and enables the experience of genuine self-efficacy.
Close WindowUnder the motto “Be Prepared – Become Climate Neutral,” the CO2PLAN funding program of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action is currently running.
As a participating company, OHRMANN is supported over a period of three years (2023–2026) by experienced consultants to develop a concrete CO2 reduction roadmap (according to SBTi) and to implement the necessary measures. This aims to significantly reduce CO2 emissions.
By participating in this project, we clearly demonstrate that OHRMANN is committed to the 1.5-degree target and will consistently work towards reducing its CO2 emissions.
ÖKOPROFIT supports companies in improving their environmental performance while simultaneously reducing operating costs. The program combines ecological benefits with economic efficiency and lays the foundation for structured environmental management.
Since 2021, OHRMANN has been participating in ÖKOPROFIT to strategically embed operational environmental protection within the company. In spring 2022, OHRMANN was certified as an ÖKOPROFIT company and successfully recertified in 2024. The goal is to achieve ISO 14001 certification by 2025 based on this foundation. However, the greatest success during the one-year project phase was not only the concrete measures but also the manner of participation and the involvement of the workforce.
The project team was deliberately composed broadly to ensure comprehensive knowledge building and to anchor environmental protection throughout the entire workforce. From the outset, the goal was to establish a well-founded environmental team beyond the project phase, which independently advances operational environmental protection topics at a high level.
This approach underscores our guiding principle, “Growth with Responsibility.” With a strong focus on knowledge transfer, long-term structures, and broad employee involvement, we have not only improved our environmental impact but also created a sustainable foundation for future success.
To the Project Close WindowThe START Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting young people with migration backgrounds, empowering them to take control of their educational journeys. It helps youths find and shape their role in society.
The START scholarship provides financial support, access to a comprehensive education and development program, and the opportunity to become part of a strong network. The program includes workshops, projects, and mentorship by experienced mentors.
Since 2016, OHRMANN has continuously supported two START scholars for three years each. Supporting young talents is important to OHRMANN because we believe every person harbors potential waiting to be awakened. We see our support as a contribution to strengthening the social participation of young people facing prejudice and unequal opportunities, and as a commitment to democracy and diversity in society.
The CIRCO project by EFA NRW (Energy and Efficiency Agency North Rhine-Westphalia) is an initiative that supports companies in developing and implementing circular business models. Circular business models promote resource reuse, waste reduction, and minimized resource consumption to create sustainable and long-term profitable business strategies. As part of the project, companies receive support in knowledge building, learning new methods, and identifying potential for circular value creation.
In 2024, OHRMANN participated in the CIRCO project. The main goal was knowledge building on circular and sustainable business models. The CIRCO project provided a valuable opportunity to learn methods and strategies that enable us to identify circular business models and integrate them into our daily operations.
The award “Family-Friendly Company in the Soest District” is presented to companies that create especially family-friendly working conditions. It honors firms that offer flexible working hours, support programs for parents, and other measures enabling employees to better balance work and family life. The goal of the award is to promote companies that foster a family-friendly work environment and thereby contribute to the compatibility of family and career.
OHRMANN places great value on promoting a balanced work-life balance and supporting our employees in their family responsibilities. As a family-friendly company, we aim not only to be an attractive employer but also to create a work environment where the compatibility of professional and private life is actively supported. The repeated award underscores our commitment to taking the needs of our employees seriously and continuously improving working conditions.
To the Project Close WindowThe OHRMANN Environmental Team was established as part of the Ökoprofit certification and has been maintained ever since. The environmental team is an interdisciplinary group of employees actively engaged with environmental protection, sustainability, and resource conservation within the company. It was formed based on insights and measures developed through Ökoprofit to further advance OHRMANN’s environmental strategy and integrate it into the corporate culture for the long term.
The environmental team was created to ensure that environmental protection and sustainability topics are not addressed only once during the Ökoprofit certification but are permanently embedded in daily work routines. The team acts as a driving force to continue the eco-friendly measures from Ökoprofit, continuously raise employee awareness, and promote future developments toward a more sustainable company. Furthermore, the environmental team is intended to function as a permanent part of the company, thereby upholding responsibility for operational environmental protection at a high level.
Close WindowSince 2021, OHRMANN has been awarded the KlimaSicher certificate.
The KlimaSicher project was initiated by the districts of Soest, Warendorf, and Siegen-Wittgenstein in cooperation with TU Dortmund and RWTH Aachen to prepare companies for the challenges of climate change. Under the guidance of experts from these universities, around 30 companies worked on analyzing the impacts of climate risks such as heavy rainfall, heat, and storms specific to their locations. The goal was to identify local risks and develop targeted measures to enhance resilience.
As a responsible company, it is essential for OHRMANN to safeguard its own infrastructure and the machines under construction for our customers against the consequences of climate change. During the project, OHRMANN primarily investigated the dangers of heavy rainfall events. As a result, measures were implemented that significantly reduce risks associated with heavy rain.
By participating in the project and implementing these measures, OHRMANN has not only increased its own resilience but also sent a clear message: sustainability also means climate protection and precaution.
To the Project Close WindowIn 2025, OHRMANN will obtain ISO 14001 certification to establish its environmental management system on an internationally recognized and standardized basis. This certification is the logical next step following the Ökoprofit certification in 2022. While Ökoprofit laid the foundation for our environmental commitment and primarily improved our operational environmental performance, ISO 14001 certification enables us to implement standardized processes to systematically measure, monitor, and continuously improve our environmental performance. It allows us to specifically minimize environmental impacts, identify risks early, and take measures to reduce environmental effects. This certification demonstrates to both our employees and customers that we firmly anchor sustainable practices within our company and take responsibility for environmental protection.
Close WindowThe Bürgerwald Möhnesee is a community reforestation project on municipal lands of the Möhnesee municipality. Following the devastating bark beetle infestation that has destroyed 90% of the spruce stock since 2018, the areas are being reforested with climate-resilient tree species according to the NRW forest management plan, funded through donations.
After the forest was cleared by the municipality, the land was left unprotected against erosion, transforming the landscape into a “dead lunar landscape.” As a company with strong local ties and close proximity to Möhnesee, we are committed to supporting the reforestation of over 2,200 sqm with our donation, aiming to replace the spruce monoculture with a new, hopefully more climate-resilient forest. We want to contribute to preserving the Arnsberg Forest at Möhnesee as a local recreational area. Unfortunately, no nature reserve has been established, which we would have welcomed. The revenues from the forest remain with the municipality, which also bears responsibility for its maintenance and use.
To the Project Close WindowThe Youth Pentecost Tournament of SpVg Möhnesee has been held in Möhnesee for more than 30 years and has become one of the largest youth soccer tournaments in the region. Traditionally taking place over the Pentecost weekend, it attracts numerous participants and spectators. In 2024, around 150 teams took part. Several thousand children and youths, parents, coaches, volunteers, and spectators were present in Möhnesee during the Pentecost days. For the sports club and the community, the Youth Pentecost Tournament is a highlight of the year that not only ignites sporting enthusiasm but also fosters local cohesion.
OHRMANN supports the Youth Pentecost Tournament of SpVg Möhnesee because we want to promote not only sports and physical activity but also the spirit of such major events for children and young people: fun, camping with the team, games, and meeting new people and places. Through our support, we aim to make a positive contribution to nurturing the next generation and strengthening the local community, as many OHRMANN employees are also parents or volunteers involved in this tournament.
To the Project Close WindowKlima vor Acht is an initiative dedicated to increased reporting and awareness about the climate crisis on German television. Its goal is to make climate protection accessible to a broad audience through short, informative segments—similar to the well-known format “Börse vor Acht.” The initiative aims to raise awareness of the urgency of the climate crisis and help bring climate protection more prominently into public focus.
OHRMANN is committed to sustainability and views education as a key factor in driving societal change toward greater climate protection. Supporting Klima vor Acht aligns with OHRMANN’s guiding principle, “Growth with Responsibility,” and underscores our effort to act climate-friendly not only within our company but also to actively promote public debate on climate change. Through this support, OHRMANN helps bring the climate crisis into greater public awareness, enabling necessary measures to be implemented more rapidly.

To the Project Close WindowModeled after the classic children’s book “The Jungle Book,” the nationwide mentoring program Balu und Du e.V. pairs young adults (Balus) with elementary school children (Moglis) in a one-year mentorship. Since 2001, these “Balus” accompany their “Moglis” through activities that are both fun and educational—visiting the library, cycling, playing, doing homework, or sharing worries. The mentoring is based on the idea that a stable relationship can provide positive impulses, strengthening children’s self-confidence and resilience.
OHRMANN is committed to equal opportunities and educational justice. By supporting Balu und Du through donations, OHRMANN aims to help children from challenging backgrounds gain better prospects for their futures. By assisting even the youngest to believe in themselves and unlock their potential, we actively contribute to a just and diverse society.
