What quality advantages does automatic O-ring assembly offer?
The main sources of error in O-ring assembly are overstretching and twisting of the seal rings. In machine assembly, the O-ring is stretched in a precisely defined manner, and twisting is virtually impossible due to the assembly process. In contrast, manual assembly involves numerous variable factors that depend entirely on the individual actions of the assembler—even when using special O-ring assembly tools.
Additionally, automatic assembly often eliminates the need for assembly aids such as oils and greases, which can contaminate the component and cause problems in subsequent assembly steps.
